Mirai Robot Store

Mirai Robot Store

The world’s first robots-only brick-n-mortar shop, “Robot Mirai Department”, opened in Japan in October 2006.

Need an arm or a leg … for your robot? Then they can help. The Robot Mirai store offers about 1000 robots and robot accessories. But it may cost … an arm and a leg. :)

The Nuvo humanoid robot by ZMP Inc. is also featured. It is 35 cm (13.8″) tall and can dance and respond to human voices. Last time we checked, one of these babies will set you back about 588,000 yen (~$5,500)!

For a cool virtual tour of the store, mozy on over to Endgadget.

Of course you can shop online, but next time you’re in Nagoya, Japan, be sure to check out the store – real shopping is much more satisfying! It’s also actually part of a larger robot museum, so your visit will definitely be worth it. BTW, if you’re going to Japan, there is also a Vstone robot store in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan. :)
