Boston Dynamics-BIGDOG
I saw this rough terrain robot awhile back and thought to say a few things about the company and show a video about this robot. The builders Boston Dynamics designed this robot for rough terrains which is powered by a engine that drives a hydraulic actuation system. This advanced robot can maneuver through difficult terrain and carry heavy loads, run, walk, and climb. The sound that BIGDOG gives off is pretty creepy but I can see this robot help the military in the future for many reasons. BIGDOG is about 3 feet long, 2.5 feet tall and weighs 240 lbs. Boston Dynamics is currently working on a LS3 model that can carry up to 400 lbs and travel 20 miles or 24 hours on one fueling. The LS3 does not need a driver it follows a military supervisor using computer vision or travel to designated locations using sensing and GPS.

The program is funded by the Tactical Technology Office at DARPA. Best of luck in future development of any terrain robot.
